WorkSafe Victoria's Clinical Hotline

Posted on 30 October 2021

During a recent meeting with WorkSafe Victoria we were told about a great new pilot program that has just opened to psychologists.

WorkSafe is committed to supporting and partnering with treating health providers, who are assisting patients in their recovery following a workplace injury.

GPs, psychologists and physiotherapists treating injured workers can now call WorkSafe’s Clinical hotline for clinical support and advice.

Staffed by WorkSafe Victoria clinical experts, the Clinical Hotline is designed to assist with:

  • Peer to peer clinical management brainstorming
  • Evidence based treatment options
  • Certifying a patient’s capacity
  • Treatment management plans
  • Patient/employer relationship breakdown
  • Secondary injuries
  • Injury screening tools and advice
  • Exacerbation of pre-existing conditions
  • Recovery outcome measures
  • Referral, treatment or investigation pathways
