AAPi in the Media

In May, AAPi was featured in 56 media pieces reaching over 2.1 million people. Highlights included a piece in the Bendigo Advertiser about the regional mental health crisis being created by the two-tier rebate system, which ran in 31 other media outlets around the country. The Sydney Morning Herald article on calls for changes to Medicare and ABC Radio Sydney interview with board member Mark Baxter covering the shortage of psychologists, the workforce pipeline difficulties and the overall stress on the system. 

This week, in response to the Queensland Mental Health Select Committee Report, AAPi was featured in the Courier Mail calling for urgent action on the recommendations and an increase of funding for mental health care.

AAPi’s newest team member Carly Dober discussed teenage mental health. Author Madonna King advocated strongly regarding the need for more psychologists. Thank you to all the AAPi members who generously gave of their time and expertise to appear in Madonna’s new book, L Platers, which highlights mental health as the number one issue among teenage girls.

AAPi member Melinda Tebb wrote about staying socially connected without social media.

Dr Julie Hollitt published an article about children's behaviour on Kiddipaedia.
