AAPi in the Media

Posted on 29 June 2022

AAPi is in the Herald Sun today (page 5) advocating for increased access to psychologists.

From the article:

Australian Association of Psychologists spokeswoman Tegan Carrison said the Albanese government needed to make access to psychologists top of its agenda.

“Measures have been previously announced that don’t fully address the elephant in the room: a workforce that is smaller than demand, limited access to psychologists, areas of psychology facing extinction, and insufficient rebates for the majority of Australians,” she said.

“As a nation, our mental health has been collectively challenged like never before.

“The frustration of getting help when we really need it is wearing us thin, and those wanting to provide the help are even more fed up.”
