AAPi's ongoing calls for the Medicare item numbers - originally introduced after the 2020 bushfire crisis - to be reinstated and extended to include any large-scale disaster, pandemic or traumatic event were featured in the Herald Sun (pictured above), The Guardian and on ABC radio nationally.
With the mental health needs of the community dramatically increasing in the face of these natural disasters, AAPi will continue to advocate strongly for these crucial changes. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the latest floods.
AAPi was also featured in The Age, SMH, Brisbane Times and WA Today, talking about the toll of the pandemic on mental health. The mental health impact of the pandemic is not over, which is one of the reasons why AAPi is advocating for the extension of the additional 10 Better Access sessions.
