AAPi has expressed its disappointment that psychology students were excluded from the Federal Government's new paid placement scheme. 

The Courier Mail reported that Executive Director Tegan Carrison urged the government to include psychology students in the scheme given the huge demand for mental health workforce.

And speaking on radio 2SM, Carly Dober said: "We know that there's a significant shortage in the psychology workforce nationwide, and exclusion from this scheme will further entrench this shortage. 

"Psychology students are health care professionals in training and they should be given equal consideration. This news will be incredibly disappointing for current psychology students, who are desperately hoping that in the cost of living crisis, there would be some relief for them."
