Biography:
I offer counselling to adults and adolescents. My approach is offering a professional space to focus on your health and wellbeing. I value connection, empathy, and genuine support while using up to date knowledge.
I see people across the lifespan and am highly trained in counselling with many years of practice. I like to work with a number of issues such as life transitions (ending school, starting school, moving to adulthood, ending work or relationships), grief, work related issues, anxiety, stress, ADHD, interpersonal and social issues, social anxiety, body image concerns, eating, depression and perinatal depression, academic-related stress, work-related issues, perfectionism and procrastination, anger management, interpersonal difficulties, relationship or family problems and parenting difficulties.
My approach is warm, empathetic but with a strong emphasis on evidence-based treatments. I have worked in school settings, in a perinatal service, a child focussed service, an EAP provider, public health and in private clinics for the past 20 years. I also conduct cognitive and educational assessments as well as functional assessments for various client presentations.
For the past 10 years I have also worked for universities teaching undergraduate psychology and have been the Unit Coordinator for many of those years. I have a passion for helping students grow and develop and to encourage the next generation of psychologists.
I also have a background in workplace consulting, and so understand many industries like Defence, Banking, Retail, Insurance and Health, after having worked as a learning consultant and designer for many years. Most recently I worked with Police on their mental health training program for responding the mental health concerns when dealing with the public.
