Biography:

Amanda is a qualified psychotherapist as well as a registered psychologist obtaining her psychology qualifications from Sydney University. Amanda has also completed a Masters of Family Therapy. She has worked privately and for various not-for-profit organisations.

Amanda works with adolescents, adults, and couples. She particularly enjoys helping people develop skills that enable them to overcome relationship difficulties and engage in healthy relationships. Her extensive training and experience in interpersonal and family violence has led her to believe that unhealthy relationships, at home, school or work, characterised by emotional abuse, have far-reaching effects on a person's psychological well-being. Impacts of emotional abuse can include low self-esteem, shame, excessive and inappropriate guilt, self-criticism, anxiety, and trauma symptoms.

Amanda endeavours to provide a safe, empathic, and non-judgemental space. She works with a combination of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural, Interpersonal, Acceptance Commitment, Dialectical Behavioural, and Family systems therapies. Amanda is a full member of the Australian Association of Psychologists.
